Initial information if you are considering refractive surgery
1. Who may consider refractive surgery treatment?
Removal of short-sightedness or astigmatism by excimer laser is the most beneficial for those who need good sharp vision in their Professional career and glasses or contact lens are not a sufficient compensation. This mostly concerns Professional sportsmen, pilots, employees spending long time with PCs and so on. Though the operation does not remove the error itself, by ocular surgery we can achieve error compensation, so wearing glasses or contact lenses is not necessary anymore.
2. What do we have to do before the procedure?
First of all you need to remember that this treatment id not covered by any insurance company, thus it is fully paid by the patient. Before the treatment you need to undergo complex eye examination where the doctor takes all the measures, states the necessity of the treatment, contraindications/ reasons for which you should avoid the operation/. It is important to stop wearing contact lens minimum 14 days before the operation as they may deform the cornea and cause inaccurateness of measured data. Ladies should not be wearing any make- up and it is advised to come with a company of your family or a friend because you are not advised to drive a car and it is suitable to wear sunglasses, preferably branded with UV protection.
3. When is the eye surgery not suitable?
- If you are less than 18 years old
- If refractive error is not stabilized
- If you are farsighted
- If you are pregnant
- If you are pregnantIf you suffer from glaucoma, eye infection, cornea changes and other severe eye errors
- After being treated on hepatitis
- If you have tendency to keloid scars
- By clients with implanted cardio stimulator
- By clients suffering from atopic eczema
